Tonya Marie Amos
Guest Instructor

Tonya Marie Amos received a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from U.C. Berkeley then trained four years on full scholarship at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York. Tonya has appeared with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Donald Byrd, and was a member of the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble, Footprints Ensemble, and Amy Pivar Dances. She has been honored to work with geniuses such as Donald McKayle, Katherine Dunham, Tally Beatty, Diane McIntyre, and Gary Abbott. Tonya performed in the National Tour of “Sesame Street Live”, International Tour of “West Side Story”, Sacramento Music Circus’ “The King and I”, and has appeared in numerous television commercials and print ads.

Ms. Amos is sanctioned by the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center to teach the Horton Technique and teaches the Ailey syllabus. She is the Owner of Aspire Pilates Center in Concord where she loves teaching the joy of movement and solid technique to people of all body types and ability levels.
