Guest Instructor

Mr. Shagalov was trained at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy and the State University of Theatrical Arts in Moscow. He performed with many companies including the Moscow Academic Light Opera and as a soloist and principal with Beriozka Academic Dance Company of Russia, where he toured to over 35 countries worldwide. In the United States, he founded Russia Dance Company and Little Russia Children’s Dance Ensemble.

He has taught ballet, character and folk dance at many Bay Area Ballet schools and has over 35 years of teaching experience. Mr. Shagalov has participated in workshops and festivals such as the Checcetti Classical Ballet Workshop and the Regional Dance America/Pacific Festival. He has been a member of the faculty at the San Francisco Ballet School since 2004.
