Joined New York City Ballet in 1959, becoming principal in 1968. Guest teacher at School of American Ballet from early 1960's; permanent faculty member since retirement from NYCB in 1972. From 1972-1995, Artistic Associate, NYCB lecture-demonstration program using SAB students. Has lectured and taught throughout the United States, Europe and the Far East.
